The easiest and cheapest way of making a relatively small number of small ingots is to make a mould using a charcoal block. This can be hollowed out to make an ingot shape. Fine gold grain can then be introduced into this cavity and then melted using a torch. I would suggest a Sievert torch set-up with a powerful head such as a 3941 22mm General or a 2942 32mm Heavy. This should result in a cast ingot being produced with minimal losses.
