- What do I need for enameling?
The tools and accessories you need for enameling will vary depending on the effect you want to achieve, the type of enamel you wish to use, and also level of expertise.
Below is a complete list of must-haves:
- Metal Blanks – copper, silver, gold, or even steel (if using a steel groundcoat).
- Kiln or a torch
- Sieve/Sieve Top
- Wire Supported Mesh
- Firing Stand/Stilts
- Tweezers
- Spatula/brush (to apply the enamel if using liquid enamel)
- Klyr Fire Gum Solution (adhesive)
- Antiscale
- Pestle and mortar
- Abrasive sponge pads
Great for adding decoration/effects:
- Stencils
- Decorative media e.g millefiore
- Enamel scrolling tool
